Want all the benefits of a water park, but at your own hotel? This is certainly possible in Orlando. Many of the larger hotels have all of the features of a water park including the Lazy River. I love floating down a lazy river, and the longer the better. Here are the Orlando hotels with the longest lazy rivers:
The clear champion is the 1,200-foot-long lazy river at the Holiday Inn Vacations at Orange Lake. Easily distancing the competition, this lazy river is part of the resort’s River Island pool complex. In addition to offering some prime relaxation, this lazy river also has two water slides.
One of the best lazy river in Orlando at 892 feet, Hilton’s winding, twisting, gently meandering lazy river is sure to be a hit with the whole family. In addition to the lazy river, the hotel also has two pools and a waterslide.
This 850-foot lazy river lets you float along through its tunnels, gentle rapids and hidden canyons at speeds ranging from 2 to 8 mph. Winding through the lushly landscaped resort playground, the lazy river features surprises ranging from shooting cannons to rainbows of arched waterspouts and an exhilarating waterfall.
Hilton strikes again with the #4 longest lazy river at an Orlando hotel. Close your eyes and imagine yourself drifting down an 800 foot lazy river amid a lush and subtropical environment. Due to its proximity to DisneyWorld, at night you can get a glimpse of Walt Disney World’s spectacular fireworks as you drift along this lazy river.
This resort has a complete pirate themed waterpark called Shipwreck Island. When you’re finished with the waterslides, grab a tube and float around the Lazy River that surrounds Shipwreck Island’s upper deck. It’s the perfect place to relax and unwind during a fun-filled Florida day.
For those upscale travellers that want to enjoy a lazy river, there is the 700 foot lazy river called the Drifters, at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. Drifters has been outfitted with two spray cannons, a cascading 9-foot (2.75-metre) waterfall and a frothing, bubbling rapids section. The lazy river circles a great splash zone called the Mansions.
One of Orlando’s newest and best lazy river, this 695 foot beauty is part of this resort’s all-new, on-site Surfari Water Park. The river features cascading waterfalls, water cannons, and overhead bridges. The Grove waterpark also features the very cool FlowRider Double Surf Simulator!
There are a couple of well know resorts the have great pools and feature lazy rivers, but do not quite make the top seven lazy rivers at Orlando hotels.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort has a 300 foot lazy river that is part of a great 3 acre water wonderland called Stormalong Bay.
The Cabana Bay Beach Resort at Universal Studios has a 500 foot lazy river. which is part of a multi pool complex featuring waterslide, a zero entry sand beach and an interactive water play area.
If you are headed to Disney and want to know all about the pools available at different Disney World resorts have a look at The Largest Pools at Walt Disney World.
